Story of The Hobbit

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey follows Bilbo Baggins, a peaceful hobbit whose quiet life is interrupted when the wizard Gandalf recruits him to join thirteen dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield. Their mission is to reclaim the Lonely Mountain and its vast treasure, stolen years earlier by the dragon Smaug, which forced the dwarves into exile.

Although reluctant at first, Bilbo joins the expedition and quickly discovers that adventure is far more dangerous than he imagined. Along the journey, the company faces hungry trolls, seeks refuge in Rivendell, where Elrond helps them decipher an ancient map, and survives attacks from goblins in the Misty Mountains. During their escape, Bilbo becomes separated from the group and encounters the mysterious creature Gollum. After winning a tense riddle contest, Bilbo unknowingly acquires a magical ring that grants invisibility and chooses to spare Gollum's life instead of killing him.

From a distant peak, they finally glimpse the Lonely Mountain, while Smaug awakens beneath it, setting the stage for the next chapter of their perilous quest.
